Beware when you approach a consultant

When you are approach job consultant you must check their website if available and ask them about their clients. Now a days good consultants not asking money from you. All they get from their clients. If they ask money from you, don't hesitate to say no

but they're consultants, don't they function like lawyers, chargin you consultation fees?

Actually, there are two sides to it. If you are applying for big companies like IBM, Microsoft, etc. The consultants are not going to charge you a single penny as they get upfront payment from recruiting companies by saving their time of short listing and arranging candidate's database.

However, if you are applying for a middle-sized company, you might have to pay certain percentage of your salary during your probationary period. But after 6 or 8 months, once you are confirmed, you are under direct payroll of the company and can draw full salary...

So, it is better advised to hunt for good job consultants. The best way to approach is to upload a CV in their websites, and they let you know of any current openings.
