Is windows vistas any good?
Hi guys,
I'm confused.
There are too many people saying too many different things about the Windows Vista now, some said they won't upgrade, some say it's the best out there. So, anyone got good cold hard facts on whether we should upgrade?

Vista - much hyped project
The beta version looks quite good, it uses a highly graphical GUI, so the presetation aso looks good. Infact you can even sort & arrange the files in folder in so many ways...
As usual MS has 3 distinct objectives...'Connected', 'Clear' and 'Confident'...but it takes 2GB of RAM...mus wait & see the overall response

I don't know, I've been through a number of OS upgrades now and every time I hear about a new one I hear trouble coming. There are always glitches, unanticipated problems with compatability, etc. I've never been a first adopter kind of person. Wait awhile - let everyone else figure out the problems, then give it a try. I waited two years before upgrading to XP. I can wait awhile for Vista too.

Vista
Was able to use the system for a while and really like it. Was much easier to use then the rest they have put out. The grahpics on it was great. For me I use my at home alot. They did a great redesign in it and seems to more friendly user.
Connect to the internet and did a great job with it.
Have agree with the amount of usage it takes to use this. I can see alot of people having to do some large upgrades to the current computer to be able to use this system.
In all I think I also will wait awhile till they get everything worked out.

Vista was supposed to be 64bit but I also hear a 32bit version will be available. As everyone knows Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP are all 32bit OS's. The new AMD 64 CPU is 64bit and well as Intel 64bit P4.
It's a major change to go from 32bit to 64bit. I'd recommend everyone wait till all the dust settles and all the bugs are worked out and all the drivers available before they jump into Vista.

So far looks good
Really did not have a chance to play with it been busy working.
What I was able to see and do on it was good.
Simple to the point.
Lots of pop up windows to help someone alone in it. Was a little annoying to me. Did not get to see if you could turn that feature off.
Graphic were awsome. Nice new background pics in it.
My friend is going to come over next week. I have a spare computer and going to put it on it so I can play with it more and see what it is like.
When I do I can let you know what I think.

By what I've seen Windows Vista looks pretty damn good. Also I like playing that game "Microsoft Flight Simulator" and when Windows Vista comes out, the newest Flight Simulator (Flight Simulator X) is coming out.

Well it ought to be good. Microsoft are developing it for a very long time. I think they delayed it mainly because of the numerous bugs. But Vista will be something memorable that's what I think. It will include many new features as well as edited old ones as we already know. Two thumbs up for Vista.

Vista is good as they say, but I'm not sure if most of the ordinary people will use it because of the system requirements. GUI is good but business minded people would rather go for speed.

You might be right on the system requirements and people not wanting to update their computers and stick that much money into them.
Microsoft though said they are making the Vista in two different software one that you would be able to run on regular computer like we have now.
The other one will be for the more advance computer with the duel processor and higher tech knowledge.
I was to a seminar with Microsoft not to long ago and they were telling us about he two different software for Vista. Now if they just do it another thing. And did get a email from them stating that the software should be out for sale very soon...Have to wait and see and might be now.
I have not check it out lately...

I've heard alot of things too. I've heard it's really unstable and you should wait a few months until all the patches and everything are out. So far, I've just had the transformation pack so I don't know what Vista is really like. The Transpack was nice, cause it gave a vista feel, but it soon crashed my comp. I hope I get Vista soon.

I think that goes with out saying with Microsoft for the unsuitableness of most of the software till it gets out and circulates. Then they fix the bugs as they go till it becomes stable.
Look at ie7, I had that on here and ended up having to redo the whole computer because of so many things going wrong. Now I will not put it back on here..just use the old one.

Did you know what specifically made ie7 mess up your computer? I used it when I had the original version of XP installed in my computer. Personally, I liked it. But, later I had to re-install XP, and I couldn't find the CD that came with the computer. So now it isn't genuine, meaning I can't get ie7. Firefox is always better though.
