used tires

I always look around for a place that sells used tires, but you've got to be careful cause sometimes you'll end up with something that doesn't last long or is just plain dangerous.

When I look for a place to buy tires I like to talk with the mechanic/salesperson a little bit first to see if I get any negative vibes off of them. If I do I get out of there as fast as my little wheels can carry me.

Its important to stick with a good place once you find one. A good used tire is just hard to find.

How about this one?

The most important things to remember when purchasing new tires.
1) Make sure they are the right size for your car
2) have your new wheels balanced
3) have them do an alignment
The next step is to avoid damaging your tires
1) Do not hit the curb, this wrecks the wall of the tire and causes leakage
2) Check the air pressure regularally
I also suggest you look into a product called Tire Safety Solution, it works great. This product saved my mothers life and I use it, as well. It seals the tire to the rim, preventing air leakage and from going flat when you run over a nail etc..., 1 bottle does all 4 tires.
Any questions please contact me or view my sites.
Roberta
P.S. Used tires are a waste of money, because they do not last.

always change a minimum of 2 tyres, always make sure the new tyres go on the front first, ie, if you get the back tyres changed, then make sure the garage put the tyres on the front wheels.

main reason for that, is the front tyres are always under stress with steering, and if it is front wheel drive, then it also propells you forward, and also the emergency stops/controlled stop.

the police will check all tyres if you have an accident, but it is the front tyres they are most concerned about.

never buy re-moulds, what the garage won't tell you is they are very unsafe at high end speeds ie over 50 mph, so if you drive on the motorway, or high speed roads for long enough, at higher speeds, the tyres will blow out.

making it dangerous for yourself, and other road users.

I have been to garages, and they ask why don't you want re-moulds, as they are cheaper, at the time I was doing a lot of driving on the motorway, ie. South Wales - Slough

so my advice is always change a minimum of 2 tyres, never go for remoulds, or so called used tyres, and then basically whatever you can afford, and just drive safely, and sensible, ie no turning the tyres on the spot.

that's good advice there, should be helpful to those ignorant drivers who never knew how to take car of their cars, especially their tires,

bad tires are dangerous, and they make accidents happen a lot easier too!
