always change a minimum of 2 tyres, always make sure the new tyres go on the front first, ie, if you get the back tyres changed, then make sure the garage put the tyres on the front wheels.
main reason for that, is the front tyres are always under stress with steering, and if it is front wheel drive, then it also propells you forward, and also the emergency stops/controlled stop.
the police will check all tyres if you have an accident, but it is the front tyres they are most concerned about.
never buy re-moulds, what the garage won't tell you is they are very unsafe at high end speeds ie over 50 mph, so if you drive on the motorway, or high speed roads for long enough, at higher speeds, the tyres will blow out.
making it dangerous for yourself, and other road users.
I have been to garages, and they ask why don't you want re-moulds, as they are cheaper, at the time I was doing a lot of driving on the motorway, ie. South Wales - Slough
so my advice is always change a minimum of 2 tyres, never go for remoulds, or so called used tyres, and then basically whatever you can afford, and just drive safely, and sensible, ie no turning the tyres on the spot.
