my tips to avoid getting email spam:

• If you have a company web site, use a contact form that the web site visitor can fill out. Some spam mers use robots that crawl web pages looking for email addresses. Your web site designer should be able to help you with this.

• When signing up for forums, products and services use a free email or throwaway account like hotmail or Yahoo mail.

• When signing up for offers are careful what boxes you check although technically not spam you may get a lot of email offers you do not want.

• Never reply to an email spam message, this just lets them know that your account is active.

• You may want to use a throwaway email address if you post on newsgroups or forums.

There is a lot iof image spam these days , that is why you will see that in yahoo bulk folder HTML graphics are not shown at all , this is because that spammers get t o know if that is seen that the email account is active .this is one way to avoid letting them know , also use a strong filter as providd by yahoo mail ,they will automatically move them to bulk and delete suc unsolicited emails .

and also avoid exposing your email address to the world. don't sign up on suspicious websites with your email address. just create a dummy email and use it as your dumpsite.
