actually i already tried that, what you need to do is install them in separate partitions. both of your choice Linux Distro are RPM based and have Graphic Install Methods, so it will be easier on which partition you wish to install each.

FYI : Mandrake is now known as Mandriva

ok. If i will install both OS on different partitions, then how i can switch to one and other OS?

Can there be option to choose OS for login?

Please make clear this thing. I want to install it very soon.

Thanks for reply.

yes you can try the vmware, installation of an OS inside an OS, but this setup is resource hungry since you are running 2 OS at the same time. Regarding the OS choice, you will be given choices on which kernel to load at boot time. thanks to the boot managers Grub or LILO. No worries, these are automatically installed when you install linux.

GRUB vs. LILO

hi all i found an interesting article regardin boot manager GRUB and LILO. See it.

GRUB vs. LILO

As stated at the start of this article, all boot loaders work in a similar way to fulfill a common purpose. But LILO and GRUB do have a number of differences:
  • LILO has no interactive command interface, whereas GRUB does.
  • LILO does not support booting from a network, whereas GRUB does.
  • LILO stores information regarding the location of the operating systems it can to load physically on the MBR. If you change your LILO config file, you have to rewrite the LILO stage one boot loader to the MBR. Compared with GRUB, this is a much more risky option since a misconfigured MBR could leave the system unbootable. With GRUB, if the configuration file is configured incorrectly, it will simply default to the GRUB command-line interface.
