HMMM
Yes in part I agree with you with the location of an employee that is near by to service the customer.
In the same fact, there is a large problem with empoyees that are traveling for a company that are spending way to much time and to much traveling time on thier own. With the cost of gas and traveling expensens companies need to cut cost.
If employess are going from point A to point B, suppose to take 30 miles, the employee is turning in milage for 40, wonder why. Add the extra 10 miles lets say half a year at .53 cents a mile. This is money that the employer is paying out.
Of course companies will not come out and tell the employes all the reasons for tracking them but I am sure that with rising prices, this is one of the reasons.
Knowing the trucking industry, this is one of the reasons with loads not getting to the destinations on time, drivers taking diffrent routes, and those that spend more time in truck stops then driving.
I have to say that if I was an employer with employees on the road, I would have systems put in to assure the quality of my workers.
Time is money in bussiness world.
