Moding XBOX

Ok sure I have heard of Moding XBOX's to do all sorts of stuff from ripping games directly onto the hard drive, to movies and basically whatever you want really. But I never have found a good site to go to in which to do so. Sure moding voids your warrenty and all that so I am not condoning the practice I just want to do a little more research on the subject. So if anyone out there has any good information on the subject please let me know.

Like if there is a moding made simple that would be awesome. Cause you know I like the simple things in life. I really don't want to be burdened with complexities I figure I can wait for that when I am 70 wearing a colostomy bag.

Anyhow any good sites let me know

I know a friend who once tried modding and he had to physcially open up his Xbox, ended up touching something he wasn't supposed to and now is stuck with an Xbox that doesn't work. Unless you are good with hardware, always take it into a store to mod it.

Me and my friend decided to mod my xbox a while ago, and let me tell you that it is NOT that hard. But, on the other hand, you MUST know what youre doing. The basic advantage is never having to buy another game again. There is 2 types of mods, soft mod and hard mod. We softmodded. I can play burned games, I still have my hardrive, and my xbox works. We did screw up though, the only problem I have is that I have no dashboard at all, so that means I cant go on xbox live. Besides that, everything is good.
