If [while] on a vegan diet
Question:
If [while] on a vegan diet menstruation stops for a few months, can the woman still be fertile and conceive without difficulty?
Answers:
Any woman who stops menstruating stops ovulating regularly. So her fertility would be reduced
Part of this has to do with fat content. She can conceive if she increases her fat intake. A vegan diet, I think, means no calcium. Then when the baby comes it will leach them of all their calcium. They risk bone problems, even if they do become pregnant. There is no problem here if the woman is eating well and getting enough calories.
But stopping menstruation means you are slightly malnourished. Part of this is balancing nutrition and eating habits. The critical thing is even if a person is a vegan, they need a balanced diet with some fat intake. Usually irregularity comes when one is dropping fat intake. And this is very reversible. You can go from no period to a positive pregnancy test. Again, no matter what the diet, it's got to be balanced
