Yes, GPS is become very popular. A friend of mine that is a network tech was telling me last night that they are installing the blackberry server and will have the portables with the service techs when they go out on calls. This is so that the company can monitor the movement of the service people to make sure they are where they are to be and not goofing off. I have heard of a lot of companies that have employees on the road using these systems to monitor the location of thier employees.
Guess this is somewhat good for people that do service calls. The company can monitor the lenght of time and if need be contact the closes one if another call comes in. Also finding out who is taking the senic route to get back.
What are your views about this if you were at a place that had this type of set up?
