Are fireworks illegal in your place?

Where I live, they made fireworks illegal. So you can't really have a big New Years celebration with fireworks. The city just hosts a fireworks show downtown at midnight, and that's it. If you get caught with fireworks, your going straight to jail. Is this the rule in most places? Are fireworks illegal int he place that you live?

YEs, fireworks are illegal in my country. At first, hearing that news, I protested, thinking about celebrations that traditionally celebrated with fireworks. But then, as the number of accidents and deaths caused by them, I began to think there is a good reasons why they banned them. Eventhought I would miss to play them, but they wenre't the worth loosing my limbs, legs, and certainly not my life.
