When I was done with reading The Half-Blood Prince, I was depressed for an entire day. I didn't expect Dumbledore to die, and that Snape will be the one to kill him. But I somehow expected that Snape will do something like it, though at Dumbledore's own behest or not I could not figure out. The death of Dumbledore must be something he and Snape planned between them; I cannot really imagine Dumbledore to be so dumb as to not realize that Snape is double-dealing him.
