To a common person and basically it is the number of pixels resolution the TV screen taht we normally , the older tvs come with a smaller resolution and with the coming of the LCds the resoluyion is now one of the good factors that drives the sales of the TV . Higher the resolution m the more area is covered and better picture viewing , but also the screen sixe is important here too becaiuse like a computer screen there is no need for a 1200 by something resoulution on a small screen of onlly 12" .
