They decided both agreed for the best thing.
When a friend back stabes you mean they hurt you and did not even come face to face with you to say they were sorry.
Sound more like a lovers quarrel to me then a friendship lost. Also If I was a friend to someone and used rough words. I would not blame them for that.
You have to treat friends like you would want to be treated.
