Extra credit
Remember the teacher's list of projects you could do for extra credit? Well, your boss has one too - even if it's just in his head. Find out what he/she would love to see done, but hasn't asked anyone to do yet. To do this, gently ask if there are any projects he/her woud do if there were enough time. If the project suits you, suggest to him/her that you give it a shot when you have "a free moment." Important - work late for this one. Your boss didn't give you the assigment because he/she wanted you to do your other work. So you'll have to put in the extra time for the extra credit!
