Can a fish drown?

Yes, a fish can drown. Fishes like people need enough oxygen to live. A fish out of water is a fish out of its element. A fish uses its gills to regulate the amount of oxygen intake from the water it takes in.

When a fish is taken out of water and exposed to air for a long period of time, it is deprived of oxygen and hydrogen. This renders its gills unable to control the oxygen intake. The delicate balance cannot be maintained and the gills inhale an overdose of oxygen, causing the fish to experience death by drowning.

This goes to show that even an experienced creature can be killed by and in his own field of specialization.

fishes can drown? in water? heheheh wow, tat's somethign new!

i go fishing and sometimes whe i release the fishes back into the water, they seem like they're dead,

but after sometime, or sme gentle strokes, they spring back to life, it's more like they fainted or something after being out of the water for some time, probably scared y the near death experience, but never thought that they're actually drowning
