New York Wine Country

Hi everyone!

We spent a great weekend in Cuchogue, the heart of New York's wine country. They call the area the "non-hamptons," but you still get the feel of the architecture, farmer's markets and of course, the ocean. We loved the Pindar vineyard best. You can tour dozens of wineries and there are great restaurants around every corner.

I would love to hear about your experiences there if you go, or if you already have been. We are thinking about going back next year...:)

Please do tell more, as I am a true wine lover and love to visit wineries. I had already been to the famous Jean León winery in the Penedès region of Spain (Catalonia). It was really a breath taking experience. You can also taste some of the oldest wines. :idea:

If you're lucky enough to live handy to a wine growing region, a tour makes a great weekend getaway. The Hunter Valley wine region is a few hours drive from where I live in Sydney, and few years ago I went on a winetasting tour of the region with a big group of friends. The tour included lunches, a fantastic dinner on the Saturday, hotel accomodation on the Saturday night aswell as tastings at all the wineries we visited.

We had a bus, with a teetotalling driver included in the package, which is really the only way to do it.
