Banning alcohol: have your say

Back then, they did try to ban alcohol, correct? But it didn't work out. Now, more people are becoming an alcoholic. More and more family are screwed because of drinking. So, tell me. Why can't you just ban the drink? Clearly, it's not a good thing. It gets you drunk and once you're drunk, you do stupid stuff. Sometimes you humiliate yourselves when you're drunk. And we all know that drinking isn't good for your health. God knows what it does to your liver! So, what do you say? Isn't banning alcohol is for the best?

Well, Alcohol deffinately isn't a good thing. But look what it does for the economy. Alcohol rakes in so much money. That's why it won't be band. Alcohol doesn't have to be a bad thing. If people decided to stop getting drunk, it really wouldn't be that bad. But of course that won't ever happen. Social drinking isn't bad at all, but due to all the money raked in from alcohol, I doubt that alcohol will ever be banned.

yeah, it'll definitely make that happen, smugglers would be delighted at this ban if it happens, just like drug dealers making huge money over illegal drugs

Yeah that's true. Banning alcohol would just give the street dealers more money. At the same time, it would be harder for people to obtain alcohol as well, but I'm sure if they REALLY wanted it, they would find a way. But we all know alcohol will never get banned, so that surely won't be an issue. The alcohol companies just make too much damn money to get banned.

The truth is, for social and health reason, i agree, banning alcohol could be for the best. The thing is, people start to abuse alcohol and once that happend, things will get pretty messy. Ok, maybe not ban it altogether, but control it.

But for economical and political reason, banning alcohol isn't a smart move. And i believe, that's why they can't banned it back then on the first place. :D

No one wants to ban aclohol. Alcohol really isn't that bad if you can control it. If your just socially drinking and have a drink or two, that's fine. But when people start to get drunk every single night, that's the problem. Or when people get behind the wheel when they're drunk. I don't think I'll ever see alcohol get banned in my lifetime.

But we can look at the good side of alcohol though! :D In cold places, they use alcohol to warm up they're body. Alcohol have a lot of good things to offer too. Just that, some people take advantage of this and over use it and that caused harm on everybody around them. That's the most annoying part.

And you're right, banning alcohol will only open more business to the street dealer. That will be another headache.

Yeah, if they ban alcohol they're just digging themselves a hole. I mean the cops already have enough drug dealers and all that to look out for. Now, if alcohol gets banned then people will just obtain it illegally. That'll give cops something else that they have to be looking out for, and there will just be too many people for them to catch.

Alcoholic beverages should be banned lock stock and barrel. Alcohol consumption is the root cause of all evil. It would term alcoholic drinks as the mother of all evil. Whether you are a social drinker or a habitual drinker you are not fit to be called a man.

Unfortunately, today women too are becoming addicted to alcohol. The consequences are disastrous.

It's really alot worse if the women begin to drink alcohol. Many of them use it as a way to cope with their problems, and then they get addicted. The worst part is if they do this during pregnancy. Let's say they get addicted before, then it would be pretty hard to go 9 months without alcohol, right? And if they don't, then they're messing their baby up.

It is really bad for women alcoholics. Alcohol is just bad for the alcoholics, and the people that choose to drink and drive. If you think about it, aside from them most people don't abuse alcohol. If your not abusing alcohol, then it shouldn't be banned from you. The thing about alcohol is, you MUST make responsible decisions. For those who don't, they shouldn't be drinking it.

See? Alcohol is bad. Truth is, women or men, its still bad. Bad for your health, physically and mentally too. But then, banning them like all of you said, is impossible. But, at the rate we're going right now, i believe alcohol cause more harm than good.
