I want to access my laptop at home from my pc here in Bristol. I have a program called FTP Leech, is there anything I should know about before I simply try to access my laptop? And how exactly would I go about doing it...seeing as it's behind a router?

Also, (n00b q but still just to be sure) assuming my laptop is connected to the internet via dhcp, I'll need to reenter the correct IP when connecting?

Yes, You have to reenter IP everytime you connect to internet if having a DHCP. There are some software that logs IPs, but maybe an easiest way is if you have a website (or a sub page to log IPs) to shedule your laptop (or computer) to visit the site every time is turned on. The site should log your IP, and you'll have to have a privileges to see the visitors IPs.

If you are using a VNC (virtual network client) software be carefull. Set up a password immediately.

Well there are sme instruction to follow in using fyp leech , usually the setup is easy and comepletes normally in a few minutes ( also depedns on your computer )
