Shocked in Ireland
:? My husband and I went to Ireland for our honeymoon. You know Ireland - the home of some of the finest beers in the world like Guinness and Harps, etc.
Our first night there, in the town of Ennis, we went to the hotel bar for a snack. As I looked across the bar, I saw cans of Budweiser stacked beside the bottles of wonderful Irish beers. Budweiser - yech!
I asked the bartender why on earth they were stocking these cans of American piss water. He said that Budweiser has done so much marketing in Ireland that they've convinced the young Irish adults that drinking cans of Bud is cool and hip! Uggh! I certainly hope Iron City Beer doesn't ramp up its marketing campaigns.
Marketing is great! But to convince a country's youth to abandon their premiere beer with watered down sawdust is almost criminal.
What do you think?

That's sad, but I guess,
this is the kinda world we live in nowadays,
a lot of people don't really know what's meaningful and what's not, all they see is money, money and more money
sigh.........
sad isn't it.....
other than that tigerconserve, what else you find shocking about Ireland
I've always wanted to travel and see the world, been longing to do that, so tell me more, at least you can help feed my curiosity a little lol

Hey,
What's wrong with Budweiser? Its just as good for the purpose of drinking alcohol as any other beer. :D

Budweiser also paid the FIFA so that while the World Cup in Germany Budweiser will be the only beer served in the stadiums ! All the other beer had to be removed, even national specials had to go because Budweiser paid for it !
Well I do think that most people in Europe are used to better beer so they will be maybe drinking one while the game and than start buying different beer after the game ! The good is right outside of the stadium are stands that do serve other beer than Budweiser ! Maybe some people even drink enough before the game so they don't even have to spend any money on Budweiser !
Budweiser doesn't even have as much alcohol content as the standard European beer

Yeah,
its mainly the power of marketing,
but don`t underestimate one more thing...
...people like to try something different, for change ...
You know,
very often at people who are working in top brewery, you`ll find in theirs fridge some other brands of beer

Ireland! Oh how I love Ireland. I can't stand the taste of beer, but I drank a pint of Guiness while I was there just so that I could say I had. Ireland, the home of James Joyce, author extraordinaire. Ireland, land of rolling green hills, and lovely lilting accents, and lots of alcohol other than beer. Ireland, land of the Irish pub! What a wonderful place...

Bailey's does make a good coffee drink. The original Irish coffee. However, I rarely drink, but when I do, it tends to be at night when I don't want to drink coffee.
