How to reduce grocery bills
Rumblegrumblerumble. This is the sound of your stomach, as you wander the aisles of the grocery store hungry. Cha-ching. This is the sound of the cashier ringing in double your usual bill.
Never ever go grocery shopping when you are hungry! Make sure to eat something first, that way you will be less inclined to splurge on the expensive treats you love so much.
Here are some ways to reduce the cost of groceries:
-make a list before hand
-Keep a tally of the waste you throw out each week. If you are wasting a considerable amount of fresh veggies...buy half the amount next time.
-Make treats from scratch. Use a recipe book to plan snacks ahead of time. Flour, sugar and butter are alot cheaper than that 10 dollar box of cookies at costco.
-Make a meals calendar. Use your computer and plan your dinners and lunches one month ahead.
-Freeze your bread and baking. Freezing your baked goods and only defrosting what you need for that day will save you oodles.
-Plant a home garden
-bake fresh breads instead of bought ones
-make own jams and spreads
