A history of scissors

In the 13th. century so called stirrup scissors were invented. These were two sharp blades that were moved against (towards) each other, in order of cutting something. This was used to cut hair. Befor these stirrup scissors were invented, people used to "cut" their hair by burning it.

Lol, i thought the history of the scissor is when I watched edward scissorhand. I was small then and I did not know much so I assumed. So this is how it started. Hmmmm quite interesting though. People from history are good inventors because it begins with nothing.

edward scissorhands, yea that's a ery memorable character,

i pity him though that he's such a "freak" to the society, but can't blame the society too, if sumone like him appears on the street, everyone would run away hahaha

yes, inventors are really great thinkers, i admire them completely

burning the hair? hahahahah

is this why the hair usually is short and very curly?

after the burnt session, will it grow longer again?

It's amazing to see how much scissors have evolved. Well basically how much technology can make a simple thing involved. The first scissors were just a pair of blades. Now, there are electronic scissors that can cut by themselves. Besides that, there are specialized scissors. Some for hair cutting, some for meat cutting, etc.
