About linux

Hi. Can someone give me a link to a full tutorial on installing Linux(preferebly Fedora Core distribution)? I've heard that I'll have to create a swap partition and another partition for the Linux itself. As far as I know Windows and Linux can be installed on the same computer without causing any trouble, right?
