Deepavali festival
Deepavali is a Hindu festival. All Hindus celebrate Deepavali, which is also called the festival of lights. It falls in the month of October or November every year. It is a day to rejoice, and all of Hindus are very happy on that day.
The great demon, Narakasura was killed on that day. This victory of virtue over evil is celebrated with much pomp and pageantry in almost all Hindu houses. On Deepevali, Hindus wake up very early in the morning, around four o’clock. They take an oil bath early in the morning and wear new clothes. Children enjoy lighting crackers and eating a variety of sweets on this day. Children love the festival very much because they have an enjoyable time. The elders go about to meet relatives and seek their blessing.
The celebration is more attractive in North India. Lots of money is spent to purchase fireworks. The lighting of crackers and the display of fireworks is one of the most enjoyable aspects of Deepavali, especially for children.
