Cultural heritage should be preserved

Every county has its own special places of historical and cultural importance. These places should be protected, because they are monuments that symbolise the great past of a country. They show the skills and abilities of the ancient people, which the younger generations could look at with pride and emulate.

Traditionally, important practices and customs should be passed on to the younger generations. Today people tend to forget and not follow important practices and customs, because of the pressure of modern life. But, practices and customs which are part and parcel of our cultural heritage and which are useful should always be preserved.

Nicely put. I couldn't agree more. We do not want to lose this very aspect in our heritage that made what we are who we are now on the first place. Some may think this things are petty and not conservative, but that's the beauty of it. Not everything have to be modernized. Its something that you should appreciate.

In Malaysia, we have a lot of these buildings from the past, and I can't agree more about the imp[ortance of preserving these things from the past.

Yet, as the world gets more and more modernized, I wonder how long more could these places hold on to their importance in the society, and I think that one fine day, maybe in 20-50 years from now, there will be less of these things or places left :(

mainly coz i believe the society will put more importance in other things compared to heritage thigns, just look at the movies from hollywood, if you can name me one good movie set in the future that actually talks about heritage and such, i think that's good enuff hehehee

instead, we see images of flying vehicles, cities full of modern technology and gadgets and such, seems like, these are the things people are more interested in these days, don't you think?
