Why do people still use camcorders?

Today we are living in the digital age. How often do you see someone with a film strip camera? Now here's the real question I ask. Why are people still using camcorders? In most digital cameras now a days, you can record video. In most camcorders, you cannot take pictures. So, if you can take pictures AND record video in one device, why still use a cam corder? I use my digital camera for all my picture AND video needs. Don't have a single problem.

Aww, you know how people are! They get used to one form of technology and have a hard time moving onto the next thing. I think it's also a perception that something as small as a digital camera isn't going to be as good as a camcorder. Plus, people get confused about how to get their digital video off their camera and onto a dvd. Some of the software for that is pretty confusing!

Yes, you are probably right. Besides, camcorders have been the biggest video use, so why would people want to move on? The fact that people assume that digital cameras have worse quality because it is smaller is not good. Even though that is nothing more than a perception, I think they record just as good as camcorders. The only problem with it is, you must set the video mode to fine, at least on my camera. The problem with that is it will take more more space on your memory. This isn't a problem if you have a big memory card, but you will barely be able to record video if you don't have a big memory card. I guess that is the problem..?
