Friends are who they are
My old friend just change back into my school. However, his attitude is a bit different from once when we were friends. I told him that in one of our casual chats. And through the day, I saw him trying to be who he once were, the one I had befriended with. I was happy, thiking that he was becoming his old self.
But, when I thought about it back, what rights do I have to determine which one is his true self? For all I know, the one I had befriended in the old days could be just a facade, and maybe he had grown out of it. People change as time changes.
Quickly, I told him not to do that anymore unless he wanted it himself. I was, and I hope is, his friend, and a friend shouldn't be selfish as to create her friend's character to suit her satisfaction. I told him in time I will suit myself to the real him.
Truthfully, he was my best of friend and rival. If not because of his support, I wouldn't be as 'lucky' as I was now.
And I should realise, not only he is changing, I'm changing as well. It is part of growing. ( Who says treating people as who they are, should really see how they interact with other people, especially who is important to them) :o
