Going back to communism...

Has everyone noticed that we are slowly going towards a state of globalized communism? What do you think this whole EU thing of one currency/market is all about? It all trying to suck the world into a new world order, a new world order to communism and one world! Sounds pretty scary if you ask me...

Communism

Communism was about the government controlling all aspects of the economy, including small businesses in order to make sure everyone got an equal share of the pie so to speak. It worked in theory but too much power got placed into the hands of the few that were in charge and all sorts of corruption resulted.

The European Union can work and I don't believe many countries in Europe still operate under Communism, as long as the government doesn't get too much power. I think that Capitalism is a pretty good deal and a global state operating under a similar system would be very good, again as long as control of everything didn't get handed over to a few select people. We still have a group of the select in most governments with Capitalism, but they don't get control of everything we say and do or what we buy.

Don't you see a correlation between communism and the single system run by the EU with the headquarters at Brussels? Surely, you can...

I don't think we should be afraid of a global government. There are many issues that can only be tackled by a global government such as:

1. Environment (today, any laws one country make to save the planet can be totally be ignored by another. For example, USA, the most powerful nation in the world is standing in the way of the Kyoto treaty because of greed and corruption of the American government).

2. Dictators (most suffering in the world, such as africa, some asian countries, etc are because they are controlled by dictators or racist governments that claim to be democratic but in fact are not and control the freedom of speech and the press. So, pretty much suffering or poverty can be eradicated by a world government).

3. Having ONE headquarters does not mean communism. Doesn't every country's goverment have one location for their main headquarters? Doesn't every business have ONE headquarters when companies are totally capitalistic. (sometimes I find summie's arguments are not based on facts or reality)

4. It is true that EU nations are used to a socialistic government, but that again does not equate communism, and they are now moving towards a freer market. Just look at the French labor law being revampt as we speak. No nation can survive by being protective today.

5. Deceases - a concerted world government can stem potentially deadly deceases.

Hey, you don't have to take my word for it. It's coming...no one will be able to not notice it when it comes...it's coming...the new world order is about to sweep the world! You heard it here first...and don't say you were never told.

Another scare tactic from our friend, summie. Scare tactics is what governments use when they want to create wars.

No worries

I see nothing bad about uniting Europe, we have seen to many wars between nations.

Actually, if you are worried about the EU, then you should be even more afraid of the US or the Russian Federation, because they are bigger and have stronger centralised goverments.

The EU is just a confederacy, it's more like a club than a goverment;)

Anyways, one world goverment, could be a good thing, as cool has listed listed:)
