Fearless starring Jet Li is good, lotsa action,
If you can find the subtitled version, go for Internal affairs 1, 2 and 3

The Internal affairs is so good, even Hollywood is producing another remake based on this movie, can't remember what they called it though.

There's a long long long list of movies I'd like to recommend, but perhaps you should tell us what type of movies you're looking for, action, comedy, romance, etc etc

That way, I can recommend more accurately for you

Yeah Internal affairs is great. A very complex story though. I recommend that you get the DVD of all of them and watch them back to back, otherwise the story gets a little confusing because its completely non linear.

Hmm well unfortunately chinesee,Japaneese,Korean is all the same to me so among the Asian movies that ive seen I cant classify them into their specific regions.

One movie that really blew me away was My sassy girl -korean ...Beautiful movie. Everyone who watches this falls head over heels in love with the starring actress.Ive seen this about 3 times.

Another weird director you should check out is Takashi Mike and Takashi kitana...not sure about their spellings but they have weird action movies pretty violent though.

Sweet you should get the subtitles from the net of any foreiggn movie you watch. There are a lot of site for that.

Hey humpty and good recommendations in horror or action.
have you see this Battle royale thing.
Also this Jet li movie is it one about some fighter who has to fight to make money and dies as a hero or something. I read somewhere that Jet LI was going to make one last movie

Thanks man,
I haven't watched the Battle royale, and regarding the Jet Li last movie, it was announced that "Fearless" is the last one already, for kungfu action films that is.

Oh yeah, My sassy girl is great, I fell in love with her too! lol

Hmmm.....for great action, it is still Jet Li movies. However, his older movies are somewhat better. Try Once Upon a Time in China 1, 2 and 3. One of the greatest trilogy ever made by Jet Li.

As for comedy, nothing still can beat Chow Sing Chi aka. Stephen Chow of Shaolin Soccer and Kungfu Hustle. However, his latest ones seem to be a dissapointment. His line of older movies are much better though.

Hope this is some good leads for you! :D

hi, if you're looking for good chinese/HK movies, then a long list of different titles is waiting for you.

for entertainment, you'll enjoy the Once upon a time in china trilogy (like jonjase said) but also movies like the black mask, drunken master, Tsui hark film The blade (a must see), for best martial art movies look out for the ones directed by Ching Siu Tung, also Chang Cheh movies were really great at the time and he inspired all most recent martial movies. Wong Kar wai is also one of the greatest, in a different style (in the mood for love, 2046, Happy Together, Chungking express, Ashes of time). This is more of a HK list though. Terracotta Warrior is another title i enjoyed a lot.

For Chinese movies, the first name that come to my mind is Zang Yimou (Raise the red lantern, Shanghai triad, Happy Times...) or Chen Kaige's Farewell My Concubine, Hou Hsiao Hsien is also a great chinese director, with movies such as Goodbye south goodbye or Flowers of Shanghai.

Another asian director I love is the malaysian born Tsai Ming Liang who directed The hole, Good Bye, Dragon Inn (Chang cheh's reference in title), or What Time Is It Over There?.

guess that's all for my round :) soo watch and enjoy
