Is god of small things worth reading?

Arundhati Roy had won the Booker Prize for her novel The God of Small things in the year 1997. The story is about a pair of twins in Kerala – Rahel and her brother Estha and how they struggle for their own survival amidst the wreckage of their own family. It is a gripping tale where the author has held her readers spellbound. :o

I wonder how these authors come up with such storylines, it' simply awesome, I mean I can write fluently in English too, but to come up with such a storyline and actually write a novel, phew, that's so not easy!

I wish I could write like them and have autograph sessions of my own, or better, get Hollywood's attention to make a movie out of something I wrote lol, like the Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter and such.

Cool Stuff!

Well yeah its a great novel.
And its set in Kerla which is where Im from.

My mom actually knew Arundathi when she was little and her brother used to study in the same class as her.

Heard that she had a very troubled childhood maybe that reflected in her book.
Its supposed to be semi autobiographical anyway.
