Finding a f**k job

today, i tried to forget how sick my mother was and tried to apply for jobs so that i can somehow help in the family's finances. i was scheduled for 2 interviews this day; one at 8.30am and the other, 1.00 pm. the first interview was supposed to be in a language school where i applied to become an ESL teacher...but then, my sister told me it only paid around P40 per hour and i'd have to sign a 6-month contract in order to pursue my employment...so i did what i have to do and called them up before 8.30 and lied to them...hehehe..i told them i already got a job from some other company and i couldnt make it to the exam. they bought it and of course, i'm off to the second interview, which was in a lesser known metal crafting firm in mandaue...i thought that somehow, their office would be a little organized and clean since they claimed to be exporting products abroad. i expected it to be a little nicer and more conducive to working..but alas! it was one of the dirtiest, rubbish-laden, disorganized offices which smelled of paint and thinner that i think working there for even an hour would cause you internal hemorrhage or brain cancer! jeezz..how can they work like that? i was interviewed by the HR person and as expected, she was talking to me in pure Bisaya while i was chatting her away in English-the way business transactions are supposed to be when you want to project a professional and globally-competitive image. my disappointment reached its zenith at that time...even their questionnaires had grammatical errors and badly needed revising..sheesh..when will i ever get a job if companies i applied for are like this...

i admit. i am very particular with clean offices and professional staff. even if i'd be given a minimum wage, i'd accept it just as long as the physical working environment is spic and span and the people are accommodating, professional and not to stressed out with what theyre doing. this is the reason why ive been jobless for 2 months now. i am very picky. i am a demanding bitch. the companies ive been with can attest to that...

being an HR practitioner, i am disappointed at how other HR personnel treat their applicants...so ladies and gentlemen, here's a list of things that i really hate when im applying for a job:

1.) Waiting - yes, folks, i know you can relate! keeping an applicant waiting for around 15 minutes is acceptable, since we know you also have other tasks to do. but 1 hour? 2 hours? jeez man, how much more calloused can you get, huh?! why dont u try sitting in an uncomfortable chair for an hour just looking at the staff walking towards you and then, right past you, as if they are going to interview you already but turned out they're just going to the other cubicle to do a lil meaningless chit chat about Pinoy Big Brother?! shit, check your kapal-o-meter at every chance you get...

2.) Biatches - as if waiting isnt bad enough, you'd get to be interviewed by a friggin biatch whose face is about to crack due to several coatings of foundation at least 2 shades lighter than her skin tone... she would ask why you just stayed for 2 months in a freakin call center and would interrogate you like you are a sucky liar who is a threat to their organization's safety and privacy...worse, they would keep you waiting for 2 hours and then interview you for 2 minutes and just say, "we'll just give you a call..." BITCH.

3.) Dirty Offices - when i havent heard about the company that's inviting me to to to their office for an exam, i usually hope that at least, they'd have a decent looking work environment to compensate for their unpopularity. tsk tsk tsk...when i get there...boom, can i possibly get a refund for my taxi please???!!! sucky offices really tick me off...might as well bring a lighter with you guys if you aint sure whether your prospective company's office is tidy or not. some offices just need to catch fire so badly coz of all those scattered papers that they wont really notice you just lit up some sheets causing the whole stinking office to burn down. try to think of it, you're doing them a favor cause they'd get the insurance money and so that they can build a better looking office...

4.) Waiting for feedback - sigh...just when you thought u did well in the interview, the company doesnt give you any feedback at all. it sucks. but that's just how most companies are - inconsiderate! **** be with them all for eternity!

I'M SLEEPY. i wish i could write more but i'm catching some ZzZz's uncontrollably. gotta hit the sack now.

Wow seems like your really un happy with the job scene.

Well so did you get the job or not.

Guess at one point when your desperate enough you would have to accept what ever bad points an organization has and get a job there.

Im quite picky about wanting a job with good satisfaction and stuff , But i cant do that forever.
Lot of people who made it big in life started out doing the dirty work in Jobs. The main thing that got them to where they are now is their desire and burning ambition to make it inspite of the odds or the situation around them.

Hope you get the job your looking for.

I totally agree with your point about waiting for feedback. Most people prepare themselves hardly for a job interview because they really want to get the job. What must be horrible is preparing for a long time for your interview, going there, and never receiving any feedback. You put so much time into the interview because you really want the job, and they don't tell you anything?? That is what sucks. Most companies should just say NO, if they won't hire, instead of making someone live in limbo for a while.

Why don't you give the "work from home" scene a go?

I'm sure you will find something you would like to do for work and someone willing to pay you for your efforts. There are a lot of sites out there, you just need to search for them.

Try guru.com

That is a pretty good site.
Goodluck!

See , one thing is this that you cannot really get off with all these things . You have to bear all this .
I had a friend who was a master in .net and extremely intelligent and when he joined the job , even his project manager didnot knew .net as much as he did . Jealous by this factor , my friend had to face all the stupid things of the project manager , just because e was a little higher in management . This was something he couldnot bear and left the job thinking that other places mightbe more professional , but its the same thing every where .
