Best gift...

I think the best gift you could give someone out of love is the Bible. Can anyone relate to that?

Oh My GOD!

That's the worse gift of all... it's the gift of brain dead! Turning people into zombies who'll believe anything!

How about giving someone a 'book of science?'

Well, I'm sure you've never even read a bible, my friend. You should try reading one...then and only then should you come to any sort of a conclusion like that, if at all. The bible isn't the best-selling book of all-time for nothing..remember that!

WRONG: I was brought up in a Christian family. Read the bible everyday. Only after years of study and learning about society, history, science, logic, mathematics, and all the knowledge we have today that I start to see all the flaws and 'fairy tales' that is the Bible.

Want me to quote some stuff off of my head from the Bible?

Numbers 31:17-18: Jehovah orders, 'Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known a man by lying with him, but keep alive for yourselves...'

Ezekiel 9-6: Utterly slay old and young, men and maidens and little children and women...

Numbers 15:32-36: God orders a man stoned to death by the children of Israel for picking up sticks...

need i go on? ...... or, perhaps you're the one who has not read the bible, but only listened to carefully selected 'phrases' by your preacher?

Ah yes, the most commonly made arguments that sounds good but are fatally flawed. It looks like you have not been trained to think critically... if you have time, i suggest you pick up any books with the title 'logic and critical thinking'.

Let's see how your argument here is flawed:

1. Once upon a time, everyone believed the Earth was flat, but does that make it true?
2. The Da Vinci's Code by Dan Brown is the best selling book today, and have alternative views of Christianity, but does that mean it's fact?
3. You would love 'playboy magazine' because it's a hot seller!!! I love it though!, and not because it's a hot seller.

Try reading the new testament, buddy...
And I repeat, the bible is the best-selling book of all-time for a reason...I suggest you find out what that reason is for certain before you make any conclusions...

i personally think that it is never and will never be right to criticize the Bible, especially in public..
i'm not a religious person, but I KNOW HOW TO RESPECT PEOPLE and what they believe in..
i don't like offending people..
it's just not right..
it's not about logic or anything, it's just about respecting others..
if you think one's beliefs is ridiculous, u shouldn't just blurt it out..
it's really rude..
and ur not even in the position to do such a thing..

hey, i'm not pointing to anyone in particular here..
i just think it's not fair..
coz i believe in God too, and i don't read the Bible, but i respect it and what's written in it..

Not only bible, any religious book can't be criticised at public. I am somewhat religious person and I hv read our religious book, which is Geeta. Its gives peace upon reading it, but you just can't make coments on it here. Whatever you feel as its not just a book feelings of millions of people are involved in it. You don't know what can happen if letting these thing go in public.

I say the best gift for someone you love would be a sport car. That is if the person you love is a guy. But for girls, try diamond rings! But then, if you're talking about the best gift ever, that would be, your love. Enough said :)

Come on, Anu. Diamond rings, too romantic? Look at the bigger picture, diamond is a girl bestfriend. :D Too romantic will be a candle light dinner along with flowers and chocolate. Diamond rings spells, forever yours because you got the dough! Just kidding!
