I live in Portland, OR and recently our newspaper, The Oregonian, had pictures of our local volcano, Mount Hood. The first picture of taken of the mountain in the spring of 1910 and it was covered with snow. The second picture was taken in the spring of 2003 and there was about one-half the snow there as there was in the first picture. Looking at the photos was very scary and depressing.
