They eat dogs in china?!?!?!

I've Heard that in Asian countries like China they think it's okay to eat dogs!!! and that Koreans think beating a
dog to death will release hormones that will make human eaters
sexually more virile.

Has anyone experinced this in their cultures or feel that Dogs should be eaten?
Personally I cannot think of eating a dog...since I had a really cute one which isnt with me any more, But im sure the people eating it would be able to justify their reasons.

Yikes to the world....dont eat me too!

I have heard about this too and think it is very disgusting. I would never eat a dog or beat it or kill it. I have a dog and can not imagine how people can do this to the best friend of the human :cry:

But, I couldn`t also imagine to eat froggs or snails like Italians do

No experiences, just more opinions. I own pet dogs, and they are like kids to me, without the hassle of kids of course. I personally could never eat a dog, but eating dogs is no more morally repugnant than eating cows. If you had a cow as a pet, you would probably be shocked at all the people eating hamburgers!
However, beating dogs to death is completely different. (Please note that I really don't know if this is actually a practice any culture condones). Animals killed for food should be killed as quickly and painlessly as possible. I know it doesn't always happen, but that's the way it should be. Beating a dog to death for some sort of sexual performance is morally repugnant, as is killing tigers for their penises and all sorts of other crimes against animalkind.

am from asia....
its true they eat dogs here but there is a campaigm now to stop the eating of dogs......
they only cook the native dogs here not those with international breed...
those who usually eat here are drinkers of wine.
these days they now prefer to goat

i'm from china.yip, it is true that some people eat dogs here.but i do not agree on that.i think it is disgusting and inhunanity.

I don't think dogs would taste as good as cows anyway. Cows are vegetarians, which is why they taste so delicious. Carnivores like dogs tend to be gamy and have a very strong taste. (I have not actually eaten a dog, but that is my understanding of carnivore flavor)

I have to agree that eating a dog is terrible and killing one for what ever reason is insane. I could not imagine killing my dog for food. Makes me want to puke just thinking about it.

But then I have heard well I know some one that been over that part of the country and have eaten monkey meat and say it is good.

Has anyone heard of this????

It is not only the Chinese who eats dog... actually more other countries do eat dog meats...studies shows that it is really deangerous to eat such because rabies still runs to its meat. In addition many find it cruel to eat man's best friend. But if we are going to analyze it... eating dog is already a part of culture in some asian countries and other dogeating countries as well.

You are correct and like in America we eat pork and beef and I know in some counties that is forbidden to eat.

Depends on the culture and area you are living that the meat you eat is a chosen thing.

Good thing we eat beef pork chicken and lamb. Some people eat goat that is good. Sweet meat. Bear also is good and deer meat is great.

Yeah, I have also heard that they eat dog meat in China. But, I have heard they eat much more than dogs. They also eat meats such as snakes and other animals. That is just sick and disgusting. I wouldn't ever kill mans best friend, and I wouldn't even think about eating it.

huh? This is not something new. We eat dogs here in the Philippines. Just 2 days ago, a dog died on my aunts house and the street guys just cooked it. Actually I also eat dog meat, but I make sure that it is clean and well taken care of. You can also buy dogs here. hehehehe

m...... not puppy, pet dog , small cute dog
Our people is not barbarous .
Only eat dung dog(dirty, edible dog)

so, raise dog, pig , chicken~(like any domestic animal)

Yeah it is true that people should respect other peoples culture. I mean I'm sure that those of you that think the dog eating isn't right could find something about your own culture that probably isn't right. But, we just all have to respect it. But let me ask, for those of you who have ate dogs, are they any good?
