Make your blog popular

1) React quickly. Commentators like Andrew Sullivan and Michelle Malkin draw megatraffic with immediate rebuttals to A-list pundits at The New York Times and Fox News.

2) Make your posts easy to read. Italian comic Beppe Grillo broke into the Top 10 by setting his key points in boldface.

3) Link, link, link! It’s counter-intuitive, but the busiest blogs in Technorati’s index are those like Insta-Pundit.com that link prolifically to other sites. Linking works because most bloggers reciprocate by sending their readers your way.

4) Optimize for search engines. Put the name of your blog (even if it’s just your own name) in the main URL and the title tag of your site. On Technorati, identify your blog with search topics, like “politics” or “sewing.”

5) Post, post, post! Chinese actress and director Xu Jinglei has the most popular blog on the planet. At first we thought it was a glitch in our system, but it turns out she’s a real-world celebrity who makes time to post almost every day. What’s your excuse?

Wow, a lot of tips, but still, I feel that it's not specific enough.

I'd like to start a blog too, but what should I blog about?
I know, everyone's gonna ask me to blog about something I have passion about, ok, say I have passion about making money online, then what, with so many gurus out there, how would I compete, I'm not a pro like them, or say i wanna blog about weight loss tips, same scenario, so, if I really wanna start a blog in hope of making money in the long run, should I really look at something I have passion about, or something that's got a better market for making money, something new or rarely blogged about yet.

Coz, what ever I blog about, there's bound to be tonnes of gurus out there who's better and more experienced already, so what hope have I got to make any money form blogging then?

Well theres the Catch 22. The only people who end up makking money off their blogs seem to be the people who started them not as money making enterprises but because the were passionate about those topics.

I really want to get into the blogging area too. But im busy racking my head and wondering what I could possibily write about that hasnt been done by a million people.

Well my advice is, Pick up a local niche segment which is applicable to the youth of today.

Maybe if people have trouble finding a particular servie in your country then try to make some kind of listing or write about different ways in which they can get that.

I dont think im being clear.

An example: If lots of people are confused over what kind of college to join in your area maybe you could start a college review blog helping people out for free.

Well the profits dont come until enough people come to your site. And the only way you get people to your site is by giving them something for free.

Later you can put Googles adsense into it and then start making a little money from it.As your traffic grows your money bag grows too.

But this cant be a full time career, so think of it like this.
If you can find a way to blog about something you enjoy talking about then its worth it , otherwise ,If your qualified enough your time could earn you more money than blogging.

Thanks abt the winning thing.....

Host your blog on your own web host if you are using blogger. Theoretically, this removes the "problem" flag from Blogger.com and you can post almost anything. Join a blog feeder like Feedburner.com which gives a blog wider exposure through RSS (Really Simple Syndication). Write your own articles for your blog. You can use the same articles that you submit to the article directories without problem. You own the article, you can do anything with it you want as long as it is original content.
