Shocking things about some anti-virus companies

Did you know that the same companies that make anitvirus software are responsible for creating and disseminating the viruses in the first place? I know it's a bit of a conspiracy theory but it's true...I think

I agree it does kind of reek of a conspiracy theory, but if you think about it, who actually benefits from the dissemination of computer viruses? No-one else does except the companies who sell the virus protection software.

It's easy to believe that there are a certain number of anti-social computer geeks out there with nothing better to do with their time than to do pointless harm to people they don't even know - but there are hundreds of these viruses being released around the world every day! How many mindlessly anti-social geeks could there be out there?

I also agree with it. There are two benefits for the companies which make viruses
1. The company do not have to make effort to find a cure for any outsider virus. It means, the one who creates a virus knows their week links and thus it is easier to make a cure for home made viruses.
2. If there is a virus which is spread through computers then the users will have to go for the anti-virus. So, companies make profits from it.

So, sometimes i hesitate to browse antivirus sites. :)

I agree with you - I wouldn't be at all surprised if the virus and cure are developed as a package.

It would be just too easy to do... such evil in the world! :twisted:

I think you're right about the programmers at the Antivirus software companies making the viruses themselves. I heard that for an old computer programmer about 12 years ago. So I truly believe it.

It's always the just one company that has the patch for that virus the moment that it came out. How did they do that? It's a big business and billions are to be made worldwide in the computer antivirus industry.

Also two major antivirus makers anonymously said cleary to the media a couple of years ago that they will make a backdoor for the US government and look the other way when they break into peoples PC's. Isn't that wonderful?
