Warning - Internet Terrorism

Is This Warning A Hoax?

Well before the recent terrorism attacks, the Internet community was experiencing an increase in computer virus hoaxes and bogus medical warnings. Now, after the terrorism attacks of September 11th, the Internet is filled with all sorts of new hoaxes, from anthrax and smallpox warnings to shopping mall bombing alerts. Some of the hoaxes on the Internet have been out there for years, being forwarded around the Internet from well-meaning friend to friend. If you receive any sort of warning through the Internet, we recommend you go to one of the Web sites listed below. They have lists of many of the bogus warnings that may seem very serious to you but have been proven to be a hoax. By finding out which ones are real, you may be able to save others from needless worry by not forwarding them to your friends.
