Indian musical instruments
In Indian music since the Vedic age (about 4000 years back), sound and its meanings were given importance. Ancient researchers placed the human sound as prominent, describing it in musical instruments. They identified the four main sources of musical sound as Tat (stringed), Avanaddha (percussion), Sushir (wind) and Ghan (metallic/cymbal).
Researchers discoverd musical instruments of different variants of Veena -Tamboora, Sarod, Sitar, Santoor, Sarangi. There are other musical instruments like Pakhawaj, Dholak, Tabla, Harmonium, Kanjira, Mridangam, Flute, Violin, Gottuvadyam. These instruments merge with Indian classical songs.
