I think that's because they can get more business doing it that way, lots of people these days prefer a one stop solution centre, where they can get everything done at one place.
So, shopping, eating, bowling, going to the cinema, and that's a one day event, all available at shopping malls (arcade).
So imagine if I had to travel to a few places to get everything done, thats a waste of time and normally, unless I'm a hardcore bowler, I'd give up bowling and do other things, which means less business for bowling centres
