Winter wheat festival

Hey,

I don't know if this qualifies under the arts events heading. Every year the creative writing department at Bowling Green State University holds a writing conference. Its an interesting event filled with sessions on writing and free breakfast. I been going every year for a couple of years.

It's not big like some of the major writing conferences out there but its in a nice small town and everyone seems friendly. I was wondering if anyone else has heard about it? Or has anyone gone to similar kinds of writing conferences?

you mean ppl generally go there and start writing?

Hi,

Yeah it does sound wierd doesn't it. :P Generally writers go to conferences as a way to interact with their peers, smooze, and try to find an agent. Its one of the few ways writers have of interacting with each other because most of the time we're sitting in a dank, dark room at the computer.

But Winter Wheat isn't that big yet. Mostly college students from the university attend and we go to workshops on diffrent methods or aspects of writing, such as looking for a small book publisher or writing nonfiction.
