What is a link exchange

Could some one tell me what a link exchange is or a site I can find more information about this.

Link + exchange = exchange links = put a link of my site on your site, and I will put a link on my site to your site.

Try searching the Google for: "SEO friendly list". You'll get lists of directories to submit a site on them or perform a link exchange.

Thanks for the information. Will check it out. I have since I ask this learned about link exchange. Having problems getting some but doing ok. But thanks have not heard about this.
