As a freelance you are able to set most your own price as what you feel is the best price for you.

I write, do data work, submit websites, webdesigns.

This is the type of work I do. If you have a good talent in one of the fields of webdesign or some thing with web programing then you can go to one of the sites and sign up and bid on jobs that pertain to the field you can do.

I really enjoy doing the work and sometimes have more work then I can handle.

Also there are forums for diffrent parts of the webdesign work and writing where you can go and get information and talk to people that do just this type of work that can help.

And ask any question you like we are here to help each other.

Well are there any other sites other than the ones mentioned,
Because in all these places its only the person whose got a very well established portfolio who get bids.
Is there any other way to get work from the net?

What kind of Languages do you use for WEbdesign Peachy?

Any ideas about the career prospects for FLASH proffesionals?

what kind of money do you think its possible to make with about 4-5 hours of freelanceing a day? Coz Im wondering if theres a possibility of freelancing being a full time job

Thanks
Sid

I am sure you can do freelancing as a full time job if you life in Asia or Africa. But if you live in Europe or America where the living costs are really high you have to do a lot work to pay for all your bills. I am sure if you are good in what you are doing (e.g. like programming) I am sure you can make a living with it.

Freelancing is never easy, and making it a fulltime thing, you better build up a good list of clients who would have freelance jobs for you quite regularly, else, you're really gonna feel the financial pinch after some bad months, speaking from experience ;)

Yes I am and enjoy it...I and my son work together out of my home. I have done this on and off for a year but last few months have been able to go full time with it..takes alot of work and disapline to do this type of work as it is easy to sleep in and wondering around the internet..

One thing I did for my self since I went full time is I posted my self a list of things that need to be done everyday with a time limit to make sure it was getting done and not spending more time then need...I would be easy to waste alot of time doing this..

I also stop working in the evening to enjoy life.. and most the time do not do much on the weekends....That is my time like others to enjoy life...

Take a person that can orginaze them selves and self started ...because you dont punch a clock and you have to find the work to do....

Peachy what kind of writing work do you get to do.Also how do you win contracts to do these things. I feel that for a fresher at these freelancing sites, There seems to be no way to get a first good assignment.

Yeah Peachey,
are your work done online?
Does it require any specific set of knowledge or skills?

Any good resources to find out more?
At bad economic times like these, I'm sure a lot of people would be interested to earn a little extra money too, something that they can do part time, and if it's really good, turn into fulltime, like what you did, after all, we all could make use of a little more money I'm sure hehhe

being a freelancer takes up a lot of your time

i've got friends doing it, and their life is basically all about work, they go to work in the morning, continue to work when they come home, and work on weekends, sheesh, that's so difficult and sad, why are they living their life like these, the best things in life are free aren't they, so why waste all the time working for money to get things which aren't the best in the world, lousy concept i know lol

but hey, if life is all about work, what kinda life are we talking about, a happy one or a non-stop chase for more money

I am a freelancer and I have time to have fun call priorties and now what to do in the business to make money so you are not working all the time. Yes sometimes I get projects or work as you might want to call it that takes time away from my free time..that is due to a client needs it right away but let me tell you they pay for my free time and I always make sure that after big large projects that do take my time like that, I make sure I get the free time I need. It is important to make a plan for your work and follow it.. You do not have to work all the time as a freelancer ....

Freelance is someone that does websites, programing and things like that for other people that do not know who to do or do not have the time to do it. I and my son does this ..he does all the programing part of it..(my brain can not fuction in that much detail.he he) we both build websites, I do marketing or promoting of websites and other small things ..as writing articles for people for websites and other things...

We only work 5 days awk. the weekend is for us..though I have to say that sometimes we have to due to time they want it done or something come up that we have to fix for a client. Just like another business we have problems to deal with.

But we do take time for ourselves and our families.
