Is coca-cola same everywhere?
So,
does anybody knows is Coca-Cola same in different countries?
Of course, water is different and that also affects taste,
but are the recipes strictly same,
or there are some variations for "local taste" demands?

I do believe coca cola is the same everywhere. The company has a recipe and the coca cola gets made everywhere after that recipe. But I do think that in all countries you can buy different taste of coca cola. I have seen in some countries coca cola lime or the cherry coke. I know that not all countries have coca cola lime (which is my new favourite !). So the basic coca cola stays the same while they do have varieties of tastes.

Nope, coca-cola taste differently in every country.
I have personally been to about 40 countries and i love coca-cola so that's my usual drink with meals.
Although Richie is probably correct in that coca-cola have a recipe, but they use local ingredients, such as the lemon, or lime, etc, etc. And local fruits or other ingredients can taste very differently.
Also, they do alter the recipe a bit for certain countries that have very different taste buds.
This is also true of foods, such as KFC. KFC in my country is completely different from the KFC in USA. I love the KFC here, but hate it in the states.
Another little known fact... when we grow up with a certain kind of food, such as mc donalds, our taste bud develop a taste for it, so if it taste different in a nother country, we may not like it... it's not about making the best burger as they say, but branding the taste into the mouth...

Well every country produces it's own beer and liquior. The beer in Europe for example is stronger and better than in other countries. Liquior is normally imported and so it is the same everywhere. Of course you have to buy the same brand and not a different brand.
As far as KFC, the one in America is the same as in Europe, the food tastes the same. Of course chain restaurants serve different food in different countries. There always take what the local people want and put it in their menue. But the basic food that they serve like burgers are made the same way with the same ingredients. Of course they use different ingredients in countries cause they use what is local. But the main recipe stays the same.
The plain coca cola is the same everywhere as well. Coca cola has a stright recipe that every botteler has to follow. The varieations of cokes are different though just the main recipe stays the same. Of course you can just compare the coca cola against coca cola and not a local brand which is not from coca cola.

Well I would say if you drink coca cola with your meals, do you always buy a bottle and drink it with your meal or do you know exactly what a restaurants serves you ? Some restaurants serve coca cola, some serve pepsi or some serve a local brand.
I think if you want to compare coca cola you have to compare it to coca cola and not pepsi or a different brand because thoose really taste different.
I did travel through a lot of countries as well and I also just drink coca cola and since now it always tasted the same in every country.

yea, coz in restos they serve drinks that are already in glasses, so u can never tell whether they really served you a cocacola or a pepsi, or something else..
i mean, they have the same color, but definitely not the same taste..

Pepsi is defently not as good as Coca Cola. Thankfully most Restaurants here serve the real coca cola. But especially when you travel and go to a restaurant you never know what you get as coca cola. Is it the real on, is it pepsi or any other local coke ? Coca cola will always be the number 1 !

Richie, I get what you're saying. You're probably thinking I mistake coca cola with other types of colas... But I used to own a fast food chain called eburger myself and i deal with coca-cola as well. Even they admit that they cannot produce the same taste in different countries. That's inside info.
If you travel only to europe, then maybe they don't taste that much different. But i have been to over 40 countries (don't mean to sound like I am bragging but sometimes facts need to be stated to make a point), and there are many different tasting orginal coca-colas (albeit slightly, either a bit sweeter, a bit less lemony taste, etc, etc).
The reason? Simple, although they have strict on the recipe, the actual local ingredients do have different flavors!! They don't ship lemons from teh USA to Asia for instance to make coke!!

A good thing they don't make coca-cola with chillies or pepper, it would be terrible. :(

Well, of course they don't import things to make coca cola, but the main taste is the same. Of course they do have different flavours. I have been travelling through countries in Europe, America and I have been to Bulgaria. All the coca cola tasted the same, no difference. Maybe it is differnt in Asia, I haven't been there yet
When you buy a bottle of coke it is always tasting the same, but I do admit when you go to a restaurant it does taste different. It is not the same taste as in the bottle. Sometimes it depends on with which water they are mixing it or how they are getting it. And that difference you can already see when you go to different restaurants in your hometown.
