Surprised I want to Stay Home

Hi!

I am a mom to 16-month-old Jack. Before he was born, I was sure I would want to go back to work after six months or so. Before I knew it, he was having his first birthday party, and I still couldn't even talk about going back to work. Now, nearly two years have passed since I left work, and I wonder if I will ever go back. Are there any other moms out there who are surprised to find they don't want to go back to work after all?

:) Hi, I also thought that I'd go back to work immediately after having my children. But, when I was pregnant, I found out that good daycare is cost prohibitive and that cheap daycare is just that . . . cheap.

After my girls were born, I realized that they grow like weeds and I wanted to enjoy them while they were still little. I got to see them take their first steps, say their first words. Now I work part-time out of the house and will go back to work full-time when the youngest enters full-day Kindergarten.

I guess my advice is to listen to your instincts and pocketbook and take it from there. You'll find some very happy working moms and some very unhappy stay-at-home moms and vice versa so there is no one right way to do it.

:D hi, Im a first time mom also.. when i was pregnant...i totally decided that i will be a full time mother..i want to see all the first thing will my daughter does...all the milestones....because on my part i was brought up with my grandmother...my mother was so busy with her work bacause she was a single mom..and i understand her...but before at my younger age...i was very mad at my mother because she could even know what is my favorite things....and i tell to my self when i will become a mother...i'll be the one who will take good care of the my child.

And now my daughter is turning 3 this june...and i will forever enjoying this profession..i may not be successful in terms of my carreer but i will proud to say that I am happy..... fulfilling mother. :D
