Work for yourself

Well, if there any good career advice in the world that anyone can give you, it's as much as possible try to find something whereby you're your own boss and chart course of your career destiny. Otherwise, you'll wake up one day at 60 ans realise all you've was to be a slave to the trade...
Work for yourself...find avenues and opportunities whereby you can set-up your own business or self-employed service provision.

I also intend to work for myself. I just can't see myself as a nine to five office worker type. The idea of wearing heels just scares me, cause I am an incredible Klutz and could potentially end up in a bizarre accident whereby I blind myself with the heels of my own shoes. :?

So I figure its best to work from home, for myself and not worry about that or any other strange event.

Well, I think you got the right idea there, sister...not sure how the blinding yourself with your own heels part works exactly though...but it's all good.

I know how you feel. Unfortunately, I had to go through seven years of wearing high heels before I finally convinced myself that I should work for myself from the comfort of my own home. It has its advantages, the most obvious one being you are your own boss and you work at your convenience. But we have to beware the pitfall of letting ourself become lax in discipline; sometimes, working from home does that.

If you're self-employed, you've got a lot more options and a lot more decisions to make. It's worth the time and effort to check them all out, though, because you'll get benefits similar to those of your company-man neighbors. For one, you'll probably be able to deduct your retirement contributions from your income, and that will lower your taxes when you make your deposits.
