Tyres & Wheels
As to the above, then it depends on the tire tread, as that can make the same type of road thumping,
the main reasons for thumping/vibrations through the wheel/bouncing wheels, then it is due to a number of factors.
1) Air Pressure
2) Wheel Balancing
3) Tire Tread
4) A loose wheel nut
are the main reasons for it, if you have tried all 3, then try the garage.
where ever possible, then you should always get 2 tires changed, ie. the flat, and the worst tires for the front of the car, the best out of spare tire, and front tire should be kept for such occassions.
getting the tires balanced should really be law, because you cannot keep road positioning at higher speeds.
but saying that all the garage have got is you going back for tires, wheel balancing etc. so they make more money out of you.
give you a tip. buy a manual from a motor shop, ie. Haynes, it will give suggestions as to what can cause the problems, what the proper size tyres for your car are, and the correct tyre pressure for the wheels are.
but never buy a used/remold tyre, unless you cannot afford a new tyre. 1 they are dangerous at higher speeds, and 2 they will blow-out a lot easier than a new tire when they get hot.
the only time to buy a remold at most, should be at most to get you from you point of breakdown/flat tire to the garage. when using it do not exceed 55mph/70 kph. and do not drive on it longer than to the nearest garage.
where ever possible, always check tire pressures every week, including the spare tire, change 2 tires minimum, and always keep the best tire for spare, always change it until you end up with it being brand new.
and good luck with your driving
