Your favourite SUV ?

There are so many different SUV's out there, but which once are good and which once are not ? Which one is your favourite and why ?

For me I like:
Cadillac Escalade
Mercedes G-Class
Mitsubishi Montero Sport (it's called Pajero Sport in some Countries)
Hummer

I think the Cadillac is awesome. The looks and the sapce just perfect.

The G-Class from Mercedes is super reliable. You don't break down because of some stupid reason and you can actually go off-road with it ! You can put a lot of miles on it and it still wont break. This is a lasting car that worth every single penny spend on it ! One of the most reliable onces I have ever seen !

On the Mitsubishi Montero Sport I just like the looks and space. I don't think it's much of a off-road car. I wouldn't go off-roading with it (would never know if I don't get stuck someweher with it !)

The Hummer, the perfect off-road car. Go everywhere and be sure you can not get stuck in the middle of nowhere ! Climb rocks, drive through water, whatever you like to do this car is there to do it with you ! The only bad thing though is that the engine block cracks at a certain mileage and it's not under warranty. I think Hummer is trying to work on this problem, before it's not fixed I wouldn't buy one of them. They recently made a new Hummer Alpha which has a new engine and transmission (a try to fix the problems with the old one)

For me a SUV must be able to go off-road (when it's stuck be able to get out on it's own) and it needs to have power to pull a trailer. And most of all be reliable and doesn't require constant repairs.

Hummer is in the SUV family, huh?
Anyway, i like the Nissan Murano, among many others. SUV tend to give people the idea that it's a family car. But Murano is different. It look rather cool.

I like the XC-90, but now volvo have a smaller design. I think it's called XC-60. The baby version of XC-90. Volvo is getting better and better with their designs.

Yeah, the Cadillac Escalades are really nice. They're really popular hear among the stars, especially because it's easy to put big rims on. Of course, the escalades also cost alot of money. The Hummer is amazing. Many of the big name athletes have that car. Oh I'd love to own one.

To me this one kind of looks like a regular car made taller. I think a SUV has to be big and boxy to be a SUV. The SUV market is going to have rounder cars like this one and I think that totally makes it have less space in the SUV and also I think a lot of so called SUV are no real SUV because their off road ability is zero ! I have a SUV because I need it for where I life. Without it or without 4 wheel drive I would be totally lost. For example I have read that the Porsche SUV is horrible off road, so why even have it ? ?

That car seems really simliar to the Toyota Rav-4. I agree with you. Most of the SUVs that are being made now are just regular cars, but taller, and don't have that much space for the trunk. If its really an SUV, you should have alot of space in the back. SUV is for sports utility vehicle, so I do think they should have some off road abilties. Unfortunately, people seem to be forgetting the true meaning of an SUV.

You are right. I think most of the people forget what a SUV is all about. I also think a lot of SUV makers change the looks and shape so much that it goes from being a nice SUV to a car just taller. For example the L-200 from Mitsubishi had such a nice shape where you have a lot space inside the car, now the car has a round shape and looks totally stupid. I think it is horrible that car makers do this to SUV's and Pickup's. I am happy though that a few car makers stand by there SUVs and keep the nice boxy shape like Jeep, Mercedes G-Class, Toyota Land Cruiser, Ford F-150 (to some extant), etc. I like that the new Jeep Commander is getting more boxy instead of rounder ;-)

Yeah, but I guess that the SUV makers are still the winners. Because, they are trying to sell the car to the customers. Even if they alter the true meaning of a SUV, but if they make the car more attractive toward the buyer, technically they did their job. So, whatever makes money for them is good..

I am just glad there are still some car makers that stand by the true SUV. I think it is important for people that actually need a SUV and not some flashy e SUV that can not even make it off road.
