anybody who like john constable's scenery painting?

i have heard of he being one of the first to use green for trees, whereas others used brown shades. because green for painting trees are supposed to be "vulgar"

isnt that a funny idea?

That's an interesting fact. I don't think I've ever heard of John Constable. Do you have any recommended books or sites about him? I wonder why green was considered vulgar. Do you have any ideas about that part of it?

most of his earlier works are brownish and orangy coz th folks doesn't consider green to be quite a proper shade then.
