See your own city
If you live in a big city, you probably don't know it as well as you think you do. If your city is very culturally diverse you can have a really fascinating experience exploring it.
Spending a weekend touring through the parts of the city you wouldn't normally visit is a lot less expensive than a weekend away, and it can be a lot more fun.

I live in a REALLY, REALLY TINY city of about 8,000 people and this is STILL fun! Tiny old thrift stores you've never been to, a hidden street with pretty houses, a nice park, finding ANYTHING you haven't seen before, no matter how small, can be a fun experience.

I live in a City with lots to do
I live in a city and been here for years. It changes all the time with new things to do. We have hundreds of parks and there is always activites going on.
I have not been all over the city to be able to do all of it. With every weekend we try to do something around here for activities. We find lots to do.
The zoo changes every couple of years so that is something we enjoy and new animails are being broght in or born.
I find in any town or city there is always some thing to do.

That's a very good idea. Knowing your city in weekends is a very nice thing to do. But don't you feel that there are 52 weekends in an year and atleast on 10 weekends we plan to go and enjoy. Don't you feel that we can travel our city in one-two years. After which we need to go somewhere else. Specialy, when your city is not a big one. My city is a midium one and we need to travel our city in our childhood as we could afford expensive trips. but now what?? v need to search fr new locations

I have to agree with you about if you do not live in a large city that would be true.
As I have only lived in the US all my life, I have not experince any other parts of the world and the cities. Which you could be right. I am sure there is some cities that are not as populated as the one I live in and could be they do not offer enough enternainment in the those cities, or towns.
I think some of it depends on the culture and what you like to do.

I am a little disagree with you in this point. Yeah, it depends on the culture but not everytime. Yeah, we do have many more holidays for festivals and that time we had to follow our culture. Now a days, specialy in weekends, people would just like to enjoy and nothing else.
That was my opinion.

I live in a big city with around 3-4 million people. Repeatedly, I always hear about how boring the people think this city is. So, one weekend I just went downtown and start to explore. I had so much fun! There is so much to do here, yet people think is boring. They need to get off their lazy butts and explore the city and they won't ever call it boring again!

That is great and what a better time then now. The gas prices up and getting around the town and city is cheaper then taking a long travel to another place.
With the holdiays coming up another good reason to get around the town or city. Do a little exploring in those out of the way or store you normally do not visit. You never know what you might find.

Another great reason to explore your own city is to find out how much free stuff there is to do. For example, my major city has a free bus ride area. So you can either take the bus or the train to the city, or drive your car and park. Then you can explore the core of the city for free on the bus! Now, I wouldn't want to spend every weekend exploring the city. I'm more a "woods and water" kind of girl, but it could be fun to explore the city every once in awhile.

Yeah that's true, especially if you live in a big city. Cause I live in a big city and if you go downtown, there is probably something going on, whether its big or small, but most of the time it is free and it's a nice time to just relax and have fun. A while back we just launched the Metro Rail system here so for like a week or so they gave people free rides, which was pretty cool.

I think that is neat. Due the fact most of us drive and I have to say in a city or even town when you are driving how much do you really pay attention to stores or things going on . For me to busy watching traffic and the cars around me. Taking a bus or the rail would be a great way of going around and just site seeing what is really in the city.

Many people really think that the perfect get away is going out of town somewhere. But let's say you live in a place surrounding the city, which isn't in the city. All it takes is one trip to go downtown into your city, and once your there, there will be enough stuff for you do do which will make THAT your perfect get away, believe it or not.

OH I agree with you. The last few years they built a motel and it is excellent. I have not been there yet but do plan on it. I have some friends coming in from out of town and so instead of staying at the house going to stay there. They have a water park like inside and all types of things to keep one going for a weekend. They offer good food and other things to do while you are there to stay. Also not far only maybe mile from the casino. So that would be a great weekend to enjoy.

Hah, I wish I could go to casinos. To play at a casino in my state you have to travel to the state borders so you can play at another state, and I'm really not interested in making a trip and paying that much in gas. Especially if I won't win that money back at the casinos. But staying at a nice motel/hotel in your own city is always nice.
