Will the battle between these two giants ever end?
When you're building a PC from scratch like this,
and you're choosing between the two giants, it's best to know what you're actually going to be doing with your new computer.

In general, would you be using it for simple tasks like typing in words, sending emails and such or would you be using it for more complex stuffs like graphic design stuffs, building 3D artworks/models and such?

From a very very general view, if you're not going to be doing that kind of complex stuffs as mentioned, you don't need an AMD processor, Intel is good enough to satisfy your every need.

However, it's good to know that from the competitions between the two organized by some review company, AMD's latest range of core-duo chips won in almost every category, in terms of speed, power and the likes.

So superstar, you don't have to worry a thing, choosing any of it will be good, but I do recommened that if you're doing heavy graphic stuffs with your new computer, then go for AMD, else, close one eye and pick one, both would serve you well lol

Oh yes, Dual-Core / Core-Duo are the latest chips from Intel, it generally runs on a new technology using two chips in one processor, not a new brand or anythign like that ;)

hope that helped
